Age

In Rijan, talking about your age follows the same grammatical pattern as it does in Spanish. For those of you who've never had much exposure to Spanish grammar, it means that you phrase it like this:

I have [insert number] years, instead of  I am [insert number] years.

In Rijan, the verb is tenem. Sometime soon we'll get into verb conjugation and tenses, but for right now, let's just stick with tenem and the present.

Myya'li tenez de'hekt yakhri.  I am sixteen years old.
Vore'li tenev du'le yakhri.  You are twenty years old.
Malya tenevu dek'aan yakhri.  He is eleven.
Damya teneva akht yakhri.  She is eight.
Nuztra tenezar dek yakhri.  We are ten.
Vuztra tenezai trei'le yakhri,  You (pl.) are thirty.
Senn'li tenen kwa yakhri.  They are four.
